This pattern can be challenging for some, for others it’s a breeze. This is not the pattern you should try when you are unbalanced.

The main pattern has multiples of the traditional Butterfly pattern, but I made this as a triangular shawl, knitted the modern way, with the edging stitches picked up and knitted outwards. This pattern also contains examples of pattern modifications with pictures and text discussing the effect of the results.

This was my first published pattern and I hope it will bring you much pleasure because it was written with love and I regard it both a tribute to past knitters of Estonia and a tribute to you modern lace knitters of the world, bringing the tradition on for the future. I hope the pattern meets the expectations and I also hope you will get as many compliments for your finished shawl as I did.

This shawl has to be blocked very hard sideways, otherwise it will be too narrow at the top and too deep tip to top. When properly blocked the number of top edging pattern repeats are just fine (and when being used the centre will relax and then decreases may restrain that relaxation so I chose to keep the number of stitches unchanged. My opinion is decreases aree too visible in a lace pattern. Consider omitting the edging at the upper edge if you are afraid of running out of your yarn.

The pattern is very detailed, there is support available and there is nothing wrong with the pattern even if a few reviews actually state that.

My most common support reply is:
Can you try to knit as the pattern says? which solves almost every case. Trust the designer, follow the pattern and you’ll do just fine.

Happy knitting!
