Etchings
The patterns of the flowers are etched into the body and crown of this hat. The tones of the base yarn are so close when knit that I kept the darkest for the patterning I wanted to accentuate and used the soft tones to keep the background even.
I found myself thinking of the Hellebores flowers as I knit. It was early Spring and my Hellebores were blooming. The soft, muted tones of the yarn really reminded me of the colouring of some of the Hellebores in my garden.
