Ethnic Fair Isle
by Edina Ronay
Edina Ronay’s notes that introduce this pattern are:
“This is my favourite Fair Isle because of the strong, bold pattern and vivid colours. It is difficult to knit though, because the pattern does not repeat at all and there are eleven different colours. It is a classically feminine shape with slightly gathered sleeves, and it also looks good in more muted shades. Like all winter Fair Isles, it is warm to wear because the yarn crossing over at the back gives it a double thickness.”
