Evening Meadow
by Cindy Dell
I love colorful yarns, especially heavily variegated, hand-dyed yarns. But I never know how to use them. I have discovered a fun way to let those color variations shine while allowing my creativity to blossom. This cowl pattern is not as much a pattern as it is a guideline for creating a cowl featuring an assigned-color stitch pattern. The cowl is knit in the round from bottom up. It is narrow and short in length, but you can make it wider and choose a length to suit your needs. It is easily modified by casting on more stitches or working longer. Make sure to cast on a number divisible by 4 so that the 2x2 ribbing can be worked evenly.
