Over the last couple of years during our travels through various Western States, my son and I had been researching and wanting to check out New Mexico. However, with one thing or another, our roads always took us to other destinations. Last fall, though, we finally got the chance to explore the Taos/Santa Fe area a little bit. I took this meandering around as an inspiration for this shawl, working it in different sections and directions, ending with a unique construction to a simple style.

Yarn:
Sample is worked in three hanks of Mountain Colors Winters Lace Junior (50% wool/50% silk; 600 yds 549 m/50 g): Wild Horse held double.
This yarn has been discontinued. A nice substitute would be anything with a 30% or higher silk content to show off the sheen and stitch definition. You’ll need approximately 1,400 of lace weight, held double, or 750 - 800 yds of fingering.
