Evergreen Cheer Wall Hanging
The Evergreen Cheer Wall Hanging will bring holiday, and winter cheer, into your home this season. It features the Granny Stitch for vintage flair, and the Double Post Half Double Crochet for a snow falling texture. The color work section works into a pine tree.
Materials
Yarn - I Love This Yarn Cotton, worsted/category 4 (180yds/100g), 100% cotton. You need 4 colors total. Yardage as follows..
- MC (gray) – 26yds
- CC1 (red)- 34yds
- CC2 (white) – 108yds
- CC3 (green) – 36yds
- Substitutes : Any other worsted/category 4 yarn (preferably cotton) will work.
Crochet Hook – H/8 (5.00mm) or correct hook to meet gauge
Scissors
Tapestry Needle
3/4″ diameter Dowel Rod or stick
Extra piece of twine, yarn, or crochet thread for hanging
Experience Level = Advanced Beginner. You will need to know how to FSC, DC, HDC, and work post stitches.
Gauge
16 STS x 11.5 Rows = 4″ x 4″ square
Gauge is measured before blocking.
Gauge Pattern
(counts as Row 1) FSC 21. CH 2. Turn. (18 STS)
Row 2 : HDC. DP HDC. HDC 3. Repeat … until end of row. CH 1. Turn. (21 STS)
Row 3 : HDC in each ST across. CH 1. Turn. (21 STS)
Row 4 : HDC. HDC 2. DP HDC. HDC. Repeat … until end of row.
CH 1. Turn. (21 STS)
Row 5 : HDC in each ST across. CH 1. Turn. (21 STS)
Repeat Rows 2 – 5 until the swatch measures 4″ long.
Finished Size
Measurements taken before blocking.
Width = 12″
Length = 18″
