Three colors of worsted weight yarn and some stranded colorwork skills are all you need to knit a cozy flock of sheep to dance around your neck.
Construction Details:
Worked in the round from the bottom up, this cowl uses three colors to create adorable colorwork sheep. The colorwork technique used is stranded colorwork.
Skills Required:
Cast on/Bind off
Knit/Purl
Joining in the round
Increasing (M1R)
Decreasing (SSK, K2tog)
Working stranded colorwork

Sizes: One Size
Finished measurements: Approx 25”/63cm circumference and 9”/23cm depth
Gauges:
18 stitches x 21 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch
18 sts and 21 rounds = 4”/10cm in stockinette stitch using size needle to obtain gauge
Needles: US 8 (5mm) 24”/60 cm circular needle or size needed for gauge. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Yarn: Worsted weight (CYCA #4) yarn in three colors
180 yards of Background Color; 120 yards of Sheep Color; 80 yards of Legs and Face Color

Berroco “Vintage” (52% Acrylic, 40% Wool, 8% Nylon; 218 yds/100g) 1 skein in 5145/Cast Iron for Legs and Face.
Plymouth “Encore Starz” (74% Acrylic, 25% Wool, 1% Polyester; 200 yds/100g) 1 ball in G208/White for Sheep.
Other Materials: Stitch marker(s), tapestry needle.
