This shawl is worked in garter stitch using the German Double Stitch method of working short rows. It is worked in two colours but only one colour is worked at a time. It can be worked in any weight of yarn and the number of sections worked depends on the amount of yarn you have and the finished size you want. The shawls in the images have been worked in Schoppel Crazy Zauberball and Stylecraft Batik Swirl.

The shawl starts with colour 1 and then the first section of short rows is worked in colour 2 followed by a section worked in colour 1. It is necessary to use a circular needle as the stitches have to be slid to the opposite end of the needle at the end of each section of colour. The shawl also increases at the edge to create the triangular shape.

As you work the shawl you will work one more ridge of garter stitch in each section and you will also increase the number of stitches worked after the double stitch as explained in the pattern.

The pattern includes step by step images of how to work the first couple of sections. At the end of the pattern there are several options for methods of casting off including a step by step photo tutorial of how to work the Sewn Cast off. There is also a video demonstration of how to work this sewn cast off here on my YouTube Channel.
