Pattern takes just a little bit of Patons Classic Wool yarn. Use up your scraps! This yarn not only felts well, it is also merino wool which makes it very suitable for babies, due to its reliable softness. Pre-felting gauge of 14 stitches, 18 rows/4” may be achieved with either the knit stitch, enlarged flat stitch or the U stitch. This was designed with the KB All-n-One board in mind but any loom that can get the gauge may be used. Do not use the e-wrap stitch because it felts to a different texture and proportion. This is SO easy that we recommend a test slipper rather than a swatch. Felt the test slipper to assess the size choice. Wool next to the skin is usually not a problem after felting because the fibers that would previously stick out and scratch are now holding tightly to each other.
