Notes from the Designer:

Faded Blush was inspired by the names of the two colorways used in this shawl, Faded Rose and Cool Blush. Like a rose that fades away, the change from new to old is reflected by the color transition adopted in this pattern. Started with only one color, the contrasting color is slowly incorporated into the shawl until it takes over.

Lace segments are used to break the symmetry in different intervals of each color section, while keeping a clean isosceles triangular shape. Every lace segment is unique but they are all based on the same simple concept. A continuous chevron pattern is featured throughout the shawl.

Oasis Camel Silk Fingering makes this piece long-wearing, but elegant at the same time. The mix of camel and silk gives it remarkable softness and a delicate shimmer to fit any occasion.

  • Click here to watch a video on how to crochet the different sections of this shawl.
  • Faded Blush is a triangular shaped shawl that’s worked from the widest edge to the tip. It features a chevron pattern worked in solid double crochet, as well as easy double crochet lace. The triangular shape of the shawl is created by working two chevrons less, one on each side every six rows. You will fasten off and attach the yarn to the second to last chevron, and then turn your work at the same location on the opposite side. You will continue this until there is only one chevron left to work.
  • The chain 3 at the beginning of each row counts as a double crochet stitch throughout the pattern.
  • To help keep track of the front and back sides of the shawl, I suggest placing a marker on the front side after working Row 1. Another tip: all yarn tails will emerge on the right edge when facing the front of the shawl. The only exception is the starting tail if using the chain method to cast on.
  • The pattern includes written instructions, as well as a chart at the end of the PDF. The chart includes all repeating rows.
  • Please refer to the chart if the placement of the first stitch is unclear.
  • The color order and lace sections are also indicated in the schematic.
