Faded Quilt
Faded Quilt is part of Hat Season, a collection of 5 hats for everyone’s tastes. This one features Colorwork / Fair-isle Knitting.
The inspiration for this little hat came from a Pinterest image showing the most amazing quilt using different shades of denim fabric and white Swiss crosses. I wanted to recreate that faded effect with knitting, and I found in my stash enought leftovers to work the background in different shades of gray.
The pattern is really easy, and it is a great project if you are thinking of trying Fair-isle knitting for the first time! The yardage required for each color is very small, so you can use up all those sock yarn leftovers you have at home. It doesn’t need to be worked up with a gradient effect. Multicolor samples look equally great!
