Fading Light
This two-colour shawl is a crescent-shaped with increases worked in the beginning and end of each row. The main body is worked in 4 x 4 rib, with garter stitch beams in a contrasting colour. These are worked using short rows and can be placed to follow the sample shawl or wherever wanted. The shawl is finished with a beautiful lace border in the contrasting colour.
Materials:
• Yarn: La Bien Aimée Helix (75% Falkland Merino, 25% Gotland wool, 710 yds / 650 m – 100 g) in two colours, 1 skein of MC and 1 skein of CC. Or approx. 497 yds / 455 m of light-fingering-weight yarn in MC and 320 yds / 293 m in CC.
• Needles: US 2.5 / 3 mm 32” / 80 cm circular needles.
• Notions: 2 stitch markers.
The sample was knit using La Bien Aimée Helix in the colourway Moria (MC) and Yellow Brick Road (CC).
Gauge:
20 sts x 28 rows = 4” / 10 cm in 4 x 4 rib, after blocking.
Size:
Width (measured from the cast-on edge, the tips go higher up and wider): 65.5” / 166.5 cm.
Depth: 21.5” / 54.5 cm.
