Fading Snowflakes Tote
NEW RELEASE: This new pattern is 30% off now through 7/27/25 MT. No code needed!
Pack everything you need for a day of crochet in this fun Fading Snowflakes Tote. The tote can fit several skeins of yarn and the pocket is perfectly sized to fit your favorite paperback or to take along your iPad! The following video shows the tote bag in use: https://kathrynclarkcrochet.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Fading-Snowflakes-Tote.mp4
The tote bag is worked in the round, from the woven-look base up. The base is created by alternating single crochet with spike half double crochet stitches. The sides of the tote are worked in interlocking filet crochet with the strap design continuing up the entire side. The interlocking crochet straps continue up from the tote with a braided edge added as you go.
Since interlocking crochet is created with two layers of crochet mesh that are interwoven, the layers are separated to create the front pocket then interwoven again to complete the tote.
This pattern provides row-by-row written instructions to complete the tote bag. Front and back charts are provided for reference only.
Since this pattern contains many diagonals to create the design, it is recommended for someone who is comfortable with the interlocking filet mesh technique. If you haven’t tried diagonals on an interlocking filet mesh project yet, you can learn how on my YouTube Channel! You can also read about it on my blog: Interlocking Filet Mesh with Diagonals!
