Fae Haylee Sashay Scarf
This is a modified version of my Haylee Scarf, and that is simply that we are working into the front loop only, which creates the perfect ridge for attaching the Ribbons yarn.
My Haylee series is easy crochet projects worked in a simple half double crochet stitch pattern.
I had so much fun working with the sashay yarn for this scarf, and I think it adds such a beautiful finishing touch. Shame this yarn has been discontinued! If you don’t have any in your stash, you can check on eBay or Etsy for makers destashing it, or Overstock.com.
Materials:
- 137 (260, 388, 567) Yards of Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Lion Brand Wool Ease in Natural Heather)
- Small Amount of Red Heart Boutique Ribbons Yarn
- H8/5mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle
Material Notes:
Yarn Alternatives: Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice (can be ordered from WeCrochet) or Heartland, Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn, Red Heart’s Soft, and Premier Yarns Everyday Soft.
I made two adult small scarves with one skein of Red Heart Boutique Ribbons, and had plenty left over to make more scarves, but I did not get yardage required. I’m estimating I may have used 14 yards for the adult small size, but I’m confident you could get at least 3 scarves done with one skein.
Time Spent:
For the adult small size, I had my scarf ready in about 5 hours.
Sizes:
Toddler, Child, Teen/Adult Small and Adult Large
Gauge:
In Wool Ease, 16 HDC x 11 Rows = 4” x 3.75”

- HDC - Half Double Crochet
