Faerie Ivy Leaf Shawl
Imagine yourself as a Faerie Princess as you wrap yourself in this shawl of lushly growing ivy leaves that envelope you in their living embrace. The plants grow organically starting from stems on one side, develop small simple leaves at first that gradually grow in size and then become fully formed ivy leaves with their signature three sharp leaf tips that then decrease back down in size again.
This generous wrap (22” x 82”) is easy to style in a multitude of ways-- flung over one shoulder or maybe both or even pinned with a shawl pin. It is knit as a long rectangle but since the motifs wax and then wane, the rectangle gains a bulge in the middle perfect for snugging around the shoulders and neck.
This shawl is suitable for intermediate or advanced knitters who are comfortable with knitting lace and reading charted lace patterns. The six lace patterns used are given as charts only.
Yarn recommendations: Fingering weight yarn in solid or only very slightly tonal hues, one color only please. Self-striping, variegated or speckled yarn is not appropriate; the pattern will be obscured. You will need three (3) 100 g. skeins.
