Fair Isle Diamonds and Hearts Beanie
I really like how beanies look when they start as one color and fade into another color and a lovely fair isle design in between to help the transition doesn’t hurt either.
This beanie is made a round on circular needles and decreased on double pointed needles. This means there are no seams and minimal finishing afterwards. The Fair Isle pattern is completed with two colors following a chart. Although combining a Fair Isle pattern with knitting in the round may sound complicated, I find it’s easier since I don’t get mixed up on the wrong side stitches. You just have to be careful about not to keeping the tension on the yarn too tight as you carry it along the back.
I used two strands of DK yarn for this pattern. This can end in a tangled mess, but in the process, you get a beautiful product! You can also use a chunkier yarn with the same gauge for the same results.
