Fall on the Blue Ridge
Gauge:
• 16sts x 32rws = 4-inches in garter stitch
• 20sts x 40rws = 4-inches in half-linen stitch (see below for directions)
Notes:
• Shawlette is knit from the top-down, using a garter tab to start
• The half-linen stitch softens the self-striping color changes; in a solid, this shawlette will look like a woven piece of fabric
• Wool, or a wool blend, works best as the halo created by the natural fiber increases the softened look of the stitch
• This shawlette can be made larger – just make sure you have 10x the amount of yarn needed to work the final row for the garter-stitch edging
• The shawlette is self-finished with a knitted-on border of garter stitch
• Always slip the first stitch of each row; slip the st as if to purl
