Self-striping yarn creates the color of changing fall leaves in these mittens.

The yarn used for the color work, Unforgettable, is marked as worsted weight, but it is really much thinner and closer to a sport weight. You will need about 125 - 150 yards of it and a solid for the ground color. If you match the color changes in the two mittens you may need more of the self-striping yarn.
