Materials:
• Worsted weight yarn, for an adult size you will need about 115 g/4 oz for an adult size hat. Pictured hats are made with Lion Brand Wool Ease.
• US G6/4.00mm hook
• Cardboard for pom-pom (cereal box is perfect)
• Scissors

This is an intermediate pattern due to cables and popcorn stitches, but if you are familiar with these stitches, you will be fine!

This pattern comes in two sizes; the adult size fits a 21-22” (50-55 cm) head, the kid size fits 18-19” (46-48 cm) head. (The baby on the picture is 11 months old.) There are 6 diamond shaped pattern repeats around an adult size hat, and 5 pattern repeats in kid size hat. One diamond shape pattern is 3 ¾ inch (9.5 cm) wide, for each repeat add 14 ch in the first round if you want to play with the size. Also you can play with the height of the hat by repeating round 2 or round 16, each repeat adds ½ inch to the length. If you make a hat for a man and you think the popcorn stitches are too “girlish”, just replace those with a dc!
