Baby blanket for my great niece Amira. It is my own design, hence the name Baby Amira blanket.
Fairly easy pattern that goes quickly.
I used 2 different colors for the blanket itself, used up the first color which gave me about 17 repeats of the pattern before I switched to the second color and did 17 repeats of pattern again. I used a third color for the border to make it more colorful and match the colors of the nursery.
I knitted the border for the first 10 rows and for the next 136 rows as first and last 5 sts and last 10 rows in Garter St. I twisted the border yarn with the first main color on the wrong side to change the color to prevent the holes.
I slipped first stitch as if to purl with yarn in back for every row to keep the edges smooth (4th picture)
