Fan Favorite is worked from the top down in different pieces joined while working, as follows:
The Back is cast on with MC, shaped with short rows and worked down through the armholes. Then the shapings for the diagonal lines are started and the piece is worked down to the hips.
The Front Shoulders are picked up from the back and worked separately until the v-neck shaping is complete. The Fronts are then joined and worked through the armholes, where the body is shaped with increases and decreases to accomodate the diagonal lines.
Stitches are then picked up separately from the shaped edges of each side and diagonal lines are worked perpendicularly in Garter Stitch.
Finally underarm stitches are cast on and each side is worked separately, attaching it to the live stitches of the diagonal stripes.
Several steps are involved in the process, but no seaming is needed.
Sleeves are picked up, shaped with short rows and worked in the round.
Finally, the collar is picked up and worked in K2, P2 Rib.
