2023 Slow Yarn Crawl pattern from Fibers, Etc.!
How’s that? A yarn crawl? Yep - even if you can’t travel, or shops aren’t able to open yet, we’re on: the Slow Crawl is virtual again this year, too! That actually means you can join in from anywhere!
Get a passport from this shop or other participating shops (they’re $10)

I designed this project to be fun, with several interesting and occasionally challenging stitch patterns. Use as many as you like. The number of double crochet rows between the pattern sections can be as large or as small as you wish; likewise, the pattern sections can be as many repeats as you wish. The patterns generally have different stitch counts, so you will occasionally have to add or subtract a couple of stitches in the double crochet rows before starting a new pattern. I recommend you count the number of stitches you have occasionally, especially before starting a pattern section, and either increase by working 2 dc into the first and/or last dc at the side markers, or work dc2tog (see below) at the sides to decrease. Three skeins of Tosh Light also give you the flexibility to make the blouse larger or longer.

Difficulty Level:

Size: approximately 42” (46,” 51”) at bust.

Yarn: 3 skeins of color Dark Roast Tosh Merino Light from Madelinetosh, 420 yds/384m, 100% super-wash merino

Hook: Crochet hook size G/6 or size to get gauge. Crochet hook one size larger, optional, to use if the pattern sections pull in too much. The yarn blocks beautifully, but I did have to get a little aggressive at some spots, especially the scallop section.

Gauge: 18 double crochet and 11 rows in double crochet = 4” after wet blocking. This gauge is only important if you want to finish the scarf with 2 skeins of yarn.

Notions: 2 stitch markers in different colors.

Blunt needle for working in ends.
