Everyone needs a quick, easy, go-to pattern for a thick, chunky cowl for fall and winter! Well, this is your pattern. You are ready for cold weather (and gift-giving) with this versatile knitting pattern.

The cowl is knit flat, using a simple stitch pattern, resulting in a gorgeous texture. It looks more difficult than it actually is to knit up! After 26” (66 cm) from the beginning, you’ll seam the cast on and cast off rows using Mattress Stitch.

Advanced Beginners? Use this pattern as a challenge to learn a, perhaps, new-to-you stitch, the Right Twist Stitch. Video tutorial links accompany instructions.

Provided in the pattern are instructions for the overall pattern stitch, casting on, binding off, and shortening/ lengthening the cowl.
