Favorite Cable Headband
Be sure to check out the other patterns in my Fall Into Autumn Collection 2:
and don’t forget about the OG Fall Into Autumn Collection! :)
A few years ago, I designed a cable knit beanie pattern, the Favorite Cable Beanie, and it became an instant best-seller. I was thrilled that so many people loved my design, so I began thinking of other ways I could use the unique cable stitch pattern that I created. Lo and behold, the Favorite Cable Headband was born! It was originally designed for the most recent Our Maker Life book, and I’m finally getting around to having it available on Ravelry as well. It’s the perfect piece to wear as the weather transitions from cool end-of-summer days to chilly autumn nights. It would look amazing paired with your coziest flannel shirt and messy bun, but you can style it so many different ways!
The Favorite Cable Headband is a very quick project, featuring a squishy combination of thick and thin cables that are fun to look at and to knit! Worked in the worsted weight yarn of your choice, this piece is perfect for beginner knitters. I have included a helpful photo tutorial for those who may not have knit cables before, and it’s a small project so it won’t hurt too much if you have to rip it out and start over (that probably won’t happen; I believe in you!).
The yarn featured in this design is Three Irish Girls Springvale Worsted, a beautiful hand-dyed superwash merino from my local yarn shop, Stars Hollow Yarns. I recently got a job there on weekends, and I am having the time of my life! You can shop both in-store and online, so even if you aren’t local, you can still purchase the yarn used in the pattern (or choose from a variety of other high-quality worsted weight yarns). I was able to make both this headband and a pair of matching Favorite Cable Mitts with the same skein of yarn. :)
