Favorite Things: Anti-Fascism
Through January, 100% of sales of this pattern will be donated to Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC). After that, as you can read more in the note on my designer page, a lot of my time and money goes to mutual aid work in my community, so buying this or any other of my patterns will always be helping to support that work!
This is part of a collection of six Favorite Things hat patterns—wearing this one will let the world know that you love being against fascism!
The gauge is flexible: use any yarn in the sport-to-DK range and refer to a sizing table to determine which of the four sizes to make to achieve your desired circumference. You can also start with choosing a size and finding the gauge to match—each chart differs with what’s between the words, so the smallest size is more minimal and the largest has more decoration.
There are five brim options and five crown designs to choose from (photos are shown of each option)—plus, you can play with color, using just two colors, or picking extra main or contrasting colors.
There are two samples of this design. The first is Palette fingering yarn held double for a gauge of 5 sts/inch, three different colors for CC in the three word segments. The second sample was knit with Knit Picks City Tweed DK yarn, worked tightly at a gauge of 6.25 sts/inch, three colors striped in 1-row stripes for the MC and a fourth color for the CC.
Brim and crown patterns are written, colorwork body is charted (one large chart for each of the four sizes); notes are included for choosing your size, gauge swatching, stranded colorwork. Hat is knit in the round from bottom to top.
