The model was made with one skein of heavy bedspread-weight cotton, which yielded a 30” doily. Any size 10, 20, 30 or finer thread can be used, which will make a smaller doily.
The center of the piece is made of 6 honeycomb diamond shapes that form a star surrounded by chain mesh. 12 honeycomb triangles form outer star, with a fan worked between the star points.
This pattern uses 5-dtr (double treble) groups extensively.
