Felix Felicis
Even if you aren’t a half-blood prince, Potions lessons come in handy. Where else will you learn to bottle fame, brew glory, and stopper death? You’ll need your copy of“Advanced Potion Making” by Libatius Borage. Got your cauldron ready? We are about to brew some liquid luck!
Felix Felicis is the sixth pattern in The Hogwarts Library Collection, and brings to mind a bubbly potion simmering away in a cauldron, with a bit of magic sparkle and “foam” added in.
The knit-and-purl pattern sequence in this shawlette looks like ripples on a liquid surface, but no worries, it is definitely more straightforward to knit than it is to make the actual Felix Felicis potion. The piece is finished with a fun frothy-sparkly border and looks great from both sides! And if you’d like a larger shawl: you can keep brewing, err knitting, if you have extra yarn.
If you are interested in rather more illicit potions, like the ones from “Moste Potente Potions” for example, you could brew yourself some Amortensia with pink yarn and some creamy mohair as contrast, or you could go for some Polyjuice potion with greenish yarn and bouclé instead!
