Fereisle
by Meghan Jones
When I first began knitting my husband thought that Fair Isle knitting was actually Feral knitting. He had never seen it written out; only said quickly and with much excitement as I dug into one project or another. A few years later when he finally saw it written down in a pattern I had been working on and admitted his misconception to me I began wondering what Feral Fair Isle would look like. This is my imagined Feral knitting, a deconstructed geometric pattern that is allowed to disintegrate visually while still maintaining a balance of visual patterning and structural integrity.
