This pattern was originally published as Knitting Bee’s contribution to the 2016 Rose City Yarn Crawl, March 3 – 6, 2016 in Portland, Oregon. All patterns are available for download individually or as part of our 2016 eBook: Oregon Grows Great Things: 2016 Rose City Yarn Crawl Pattern Collection.

This fun design is inspired by the many types of native ferns that grow in Oregon including Maidenhair Fern, Sword Fern, Licorice Fern, and Giant Chain Fern. Ferns grow in nearly every corner of our state, in shady forests and sunny meadows, and can be as small as just a few inches or as tall as six feet.
