Festoon
Inspired by vintage wallpaper motifs, the Festoon shawl is a graphic and playful accessory that celebrates the mysterious beauty of flowers. The abstract botanical silhouettes on this shawl travel from the bottom to the tip, create mirror images, and are designed to be interpreted by the viewer, like a piece of art in a museum. Sport this bold shawl for a night out, or an outdoor picnic in the autumn breeze.

PATTERN NOTES
This shawl is knit flat from the bottom up, with decreases worked along the left side. The botanical motifs are in chart form only. Color changes in this pattern are worked using the Intarsia method for the border, beginning, and end of the motifs within the charts. Stranded colorwork is used within the motifs themselves. When changing to a new color using the Intarsia method, bring the old color up and around the new color to prevent any holes from forming in the piece. Use a separate ball of yarn for each section.
A visual diagram of the shawl is included to help you visualize its construction and chart placement.
