Begun with a stretchy cast on and constructed from the bottom up with a ribbed cuff knit in the round, these fingering weight Fair Isle mittens are designed in the traditional Scandinavian style. Featuring two different patterns, a diamond motif on the palm side transforms into floral garlands flanked by heraldic eagles on the top side. A darker solid-colored background showcases the lighter gradient foreground, allowing it to be the star and show off the individual stitches. Unlike a traditional ombre-style gradient, this gradient set come in a pre-matched, perfectly coordinating color scheme. A solid afterthought thumb is added on at the end.
