Flickering flames erupt from this volcanic hat, knitted in tweed and lava colours. The features are enhanced with a touch of shimming yarn.

The main part of the hat starts with the earflaps and finishes at the shaping of the crown. The fiery wings and the teeth are worked from one side to the other and are shaped by increasing and decreasing stitches. The flames are knitted in three colours; they are shaped by slipping stitches and turning the work before the end of the row.

An oddment of white in DK weight, and 2 black 1 cm buttons, black thread, and a small amount of toy stuffing are also required.
