The Fig leaf is one of those patterns that come out of nowhere, or rather out of mischievousness. I got the idea when listening to the Terry Pratchett Discworld novel “Going Postal” where a statue is described as having a fig leaf, which they all had in them olden days “cause of being classical”.

A lot of statues around where I live are sadly fig leaf-less, so I thought, why not do something about that? The Fig leaf can be used both for dressing up statues or as a costume part (I would advice wearing a nudesuit underneath). Either way, lots of fun can be had.

Work it in the gauge that suits your yarn and get different sizes (after all, not all statues are the same size).
