Filet Lace Heart Wall Hanging
NEW RELEASE: The Filet Lace Heart Wall Hanging is 30% off now through 5/31/26! No code needed!
This Filet Lace Heart Wall Hanging, worked in filet crochet, uses open spaces, filled blocks and lacet stitches to create this lacy heart design.
The filet crochet technique is akin to crocheting a piece of graph paper with some of the square grids filled in and some left open (or blank) to create an overall design. More open designs, such as the lacet which incorporates multiple grids, can create an even lacier effect! If you’d like to learn filet crochet, check out my YouTube tutorial: Filet Crochet: Learning the Stitches & a Few Extras!
This pattern includes both row-by-row written instructions as well as a design chart for reference.
Have you ever wondered if you could do a filet crochet-style design as an afghan too? You can! Be sure to check out the following two patterns as well:
- If you enjoy interlocking filet crochet, with a few diagonals added in, this design is also available as the Interlocking Lace Heart Afghan.
- If you enjoy overlay mosaic crochet, check out the Mosaic Lace Heart Afghan, worked in a double overlay mosaic technique to create a duplicate design on the back.
