Here is a finger crochet infinity scarf (cowl) that is very simple to do and great for beginners. You only need 1 skein of yarn and your fingers to make this.

Even if you already know how to crochet, this is a wonderful technique for teaching younger - or even older people, especially in a classroom or group setting.
