Fini Blues aka Bogalanfini Blues
This design originally appeared in Knitter’s 36, Fall 1994 as “Bogolanfini Blues”, along with a companion sweater pattern. The non-patterned areas are knit with twined knitting to give them the same body and gauge as the patterned areas.
- One size, circumference 21.25”
A chenille and a smooth wool add to the intricate rhythms of this color pattern. Small needles and a fine gauge give this hat firmness. Bogolanfini, the mud-dyed textiles of the Mali people, are made up of simple geometric shapes representing items of symbolic importance.
