Fiola Dress and Romper
The Fiola dress and romper is a garment with many fine details.
Composition:
Top:
The instruction starts at the top, which is worked bottom up, back and forth.
After the top is worked, you knit the wings. You pick up stitches into the outer stitches on each side of the front and back piece.
The wings are wider at the centre and are shaped by knitting short rows. Once the wings are finished, you pick up stitches for the 1st sleeve. The sleeve is worked in stockinette stitch in the round to the desired length and is cast off with an I-cord edge.
Finish the top part by knitting an I-cord edge at the neckline and sew on the buttons at the button band at the back.
Bottom:
Choose between dress and romper
You pick up stitches for the bottom piece into the garter stitch edge at the top piece’s bottom edge.
Dress:
The dress is worked in stockinette stitch in the round to your desired length and is finished with an edge according the descriptions in this instruction.
Romper:
You work short rows, so that the romper is higher at the back. You then continue working in stockinette stitch in the round, until you divide the romper into front and back, which are finished separately working back and forth. Finally, you pick up stitches along the leg openings and work them in garter stitch.
