This is a nice slip stitch design that’s easy to work. The color for the flame design is worked in 2 rows with increases and yarn overs that are slipped on subsequent rows, so there are no floats to worry about. I chose the colors to represent fire in a bed of ash, but would also look intriguing with other color combinations. Cowl is long enough to wrap twice nicely around neck for extra coziness.

Measures 58”/146cm in circumference, and is 7.5”/19cm deep. Gauge: 9.5 sts and 16 rows to 2” on seed stitch.
You will need 2 skeins of the dark grey #900, and 1 skein of the variegated #113. I’m told I am a tight knitter, so please do gauge to ensure you don’t run out of yarn and to maintain the above measurements.

I used a 32” circular needle, but you can go shorter if you’re comfortable with your stitches bunched up on the needle cable.

Pair it up with the Fire and Ash Hat.
