I thought this pattern was reminiscent of hand-painted ceramic tiles. See the brushstrokes? Easy construction that works up quickly. Color possibilities are endless.

12” and 9” versions of the block are included; the patterns are called Firenze 12 and Firenze Jr.

(I joined the blocks together with a simple slip stitch join. 6 - 12 inch blocks and 12 - 9 inch blocks fit together to make an approximately 40” x 54” afghan.)
