Get cozy with the Fireplace Socks - these thick, simple cabin socks are quick to knit and were created with beginners in mind! They’re worked cuff down, with a standard heel flap and gusset constructions. The pattern also contains linked video tutorials to necessary techniques so you can start your adventure in sock knitting easily!

This pattern has been tech edited and test knit.

Sizes

1 (2, 3) corresponding to sock circumferences: 17.5 (20, 22.5) cm / approx. 7 (8, 9)“. Choose a size that is 1-2.5 cm (0.5 - 1”) smaller
than your foot circumference (measured before the toes). Length is adjustable, it’s recommended to knit your socks approx. 1 cm (0.5”) shorter than actual length of the foot.

Yarn & Yardage

160 - 200 m (175 - 219 yds) of worsted weight (category 4 - medium) yarn. Sample worked in Novita 7 Brothers Nature - 70% wool, 30% tencel lyocell, 200 m (220 yds) per 100g.

If you plan to lengthen the leg of the sock or knit a foot longer than 25 cm (10”), please take into account that it will increase yardage required.

Needles & Notions

needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles 80 - 100 cm (32 - 40”), or to fit gauge
notions: stitch marker, tapestry needle
