This shawlette was inspired by the budding leaves of trees, heralding the arrival of Spring. The pattern is delicate yet dense, providing the warmth required for those cool Spring days. The chosen yarn for the samples are Handmaiden yarn, the green being sea silk in the Cedar colourway and the red is Casbah in the Red Maple colourway. The subtle toning and yet vibrant colouring lends a three dimensional look along with excellent stitch definition and drape. The size and shape of the shawlette lends itself to be worn either traditionally or draped in a number of ways around the neck, enhancing any outfit for any occasion.
NOTIONS: Stitch markers (Optional), tapestry needle for weaving ends.
Pattern Style: The pattern contains written as well as chart instructions. There is a key and full abbreviation list included as well.
Difficulty: Intermediate. This pattern is all lace, while the pattern is memorable, it requires a little concentration.
Yarn: This pattern is better suited for solid or tonal yarn to show off the detail of the lace. It may seem to get lost in a heavy variegated yarn.
If you are a loose knitter, please account for yardage on the high end of recommendations.
