This pattern is exclusive to the 2026 Woolenberry Shawl Club.

If you’re looking for a project that’s satisfying, not exhausting, First Light is for you.

Let your shoulders drop as the lace unfolds with simple increases and decreases in stockinette stitch. There’s enough to keep you interested, but not too much to wreck your flow.

You work this asymmetric triangle shawl on the bias, casting on at one tip and increasing stitches as you knit toward the opposite long edge. Slip-stitch edges and an I-cord bind-off add a polished finish.

This pattern is designed to work with you. Knit it larger. Knit it smaller. Use the yarn you want. You’re in control.

YARN
Two skeins of CaMaRose Tynd Lamauld (50% Llama, 50% Wool; 220 m / 240 yds per 50 g). Shown in color Gammel Rosa.

Or approximately 440 m / 480 yds of similar fingering weight yarn.

NEEDLES
Size 4 mm / US 6 needles or size to obtain pattern gauge

Although you work this shawl flat, I recommend using 80–100 cm / 32–40 inch circular needles to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
