Fisherman's Cottage Curtain
Use basic hairpin lace to create a lacy fisherman’s net for your window or wall. Thread the yarn with pretty shells before working each strip to create a “beaded” fabric as you go.
Difficulty Beginner
Finished Size 48” wide and 24” deep, including tassels.
Yarn Fibra Natura Flax (distributed by Universal Yarn) (100% linen; 137 yd 125 m/1.75 oz 50 g): #04 pearl, 3 skeins.
Hook Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions Adjustable hairpin loom; variety of seashells with holes wide enough for yarn (about 80–100 shells); yarn needle; stitch markers (optional); blocking mats, pins, and wires (waste yarn can be substituted for wires, if necessary).
Gauge 19 hairpin loop pairs (38 loops total) = 4”, unstretched and before blocking. 1 strip = about 3” wide.
