Materials: MC 100 yds solid colored commercial worsted weight yarn OR 2 oz 55g solid colored worsted weight wool yarn
CC 2 oz 55g chain-plied gradient worsted weight wool yarn
Yarn Details: MC 1 ball Berocco Ultra Alpaca 6211 Duncan (215 yds/198m per 3.5oz/100g, 50% alpaca 50% wool); CC hand-spun Merino wool, from roving by Yarn Hollow, Cinnabar and Sandalwood, 200 yds in 3.5 oz 100g; plied angle twist: 28.4 degrees S-twist; 10 WPI, spun worsted and chain-plied. Commercial example: MC 1 ball Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend 3120 Olivewood (150 yds/137m per 1.76oz/50g, 70% merino wool, 30% silk); CC 1 ball Berroco Ultra Alpaca 6211 Duncan (215 yds/198m per 3.5oz/100g, 50% alpaca 50% wool)
Needles: US5 3.5mm and US7 4.5mm to suit your preferred method of knitting in the round (or size needed to match gauge).
Gauge: 5 stitches and 7 rows per 1” 2.5cm square in stockinette on size US7 4.5mm needle.
Finished size: Medium 21-inch 53cm head (Large 23.5 inch 60cm head), shown in size M on a 21.5 inch 54cm circumference head.
