Flavia
A fellow Raveller was kind enough to point out that one of the crosses in Row 14 of the Decrease Chart is opposite what is shown on the finished hat. The chart was updated, and a revised pattern uploaded on 11.30.2011, so any patterns purchased after that date will contain the correct chart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A slouchy hat with a whole mess o’ twisted stitches, knit in fingering-weight yarn. Designed for Mira and Baah! yarns.
Flavia is knit in the round from the brim up and features a variety of techniques including both ribbing and cables using twisted stitches.
The twisted cable patterns for the main body of the hat and the decrease section are charted only.
Skill level: advanced beginner to intermediate.
Cabling without a cable needle is strongly recommended, but certainly not required, and some experience with knitting in the round, increasing, decreasing, cabling, twisted stitches and chart-reading may be helpful.
Those wanting a somewhat less-slouchy hat may want to consider doing only one full repeat (instead of two) of the Body Chart before moving on to the next portion of the pattern.
