Flesh Wound
Currently unavailable for updating to current standard.
Designed for Super Sock Scarefest 2014.
This sock was inspired by the classic slasher film.
From the front, these socks look supremely innocent. The back has a gaping wound, framed by blood droplets (beads), with “blood” dripping down the heel to form a pool at the bottom. The “blood” on the heel is worked in stranded colorwork for the drips with the “blood pool” worked in intarsia. The beads are pre-strung.
The cuff is worked in the round, the wound section of the leg is worked flat. The remainder of the sock is worked plain.
If you’re not quite ready to go to the emergency room yet, the pattern includes an option to work the cuff in the round with a “bloody” slash down the leg.
Necessary items:
120 size 6/0 seed beads (10-13 grams)
Beading needle for pre-stringing
