This is a picture pattern so a solid color yarn is recommended. Being mindful of the color is also helpful as a color too dark like black, or too bright like neon yellow will make the picture harder to notice.

Needle size is your preference, if you are a loose knitter try using a smaller needle size to help your picture stitches stand out more. The sample pattern was knitted with 100% cotton on US3 needles.
