Named after the Norse winter goddess, Flickers of Skadi is a seamless, two-colour cowl knitted in the round. The geometric shape which emerges from the stranded colourwork was inspired by icicle shards. An effective contrast between light and dark emerges from these pointy slithers, creating the perfect combination for an eye-catching cowl to keep you warm and cozy when there is an icy nip in the air.

Starting with a Provisional Cast On, the cowl is worked in the round as a long tube so only the right side of the stitch pattern is seen. When the desired length is reached, the cast on is undone and the two ends are grafted together with Kitchener stitch, making a seamless circular cowl. Thus the wrong side is completely encased and invisible, which prevents any floats from the colourwork from getting snagged/caught when wearing.
