Flip Your Wig 2
This pattern is for bulky or mid-gauge machines. Only use a mid-gauge if yours likes worsted weight yarn and easily gets the gauge. Mid-gauge machines do vary quite a bit. Gauge in stockinette is 4 stitches/6 rows/inch. Sizes finish to 1618, 20, 22 which usually fit toddlers children, tweens, adult women. The machine need not have any patterning ability but a ribber is nice to have. However, the little bit of ribbing may also be hand manipulated so hobby machines may also be used. For the sample, a mystery bargain yellow yarn was used for the hair and Mary Maxim Starlette was used for the hat. Both knitted nicely and got the gauge on a Brother 260 at stitch size 7 for stockinette and 5 for ribbing. That’s just a starting place. Find the stitch size that works best on your machine to get the gauge.
