This is a bottom-up crescent, shawl that was inspired by the arrival of June. Making summer memories at the beach, daytime and nighttime, pondering the many mysteries of the depths of the sea, like whether or not mermaids exist, as the waves roll in and out along the shore. The vibrant tonal coloring of this hand-dyed yarn from the swatch reminds me of the many blues and greens one appreciates while watching the waves in the summer evenings. The size and shape of the shawl lends itself to be worn either traditionally or draped in a number of ways around the neck.

NOTIONS: 13 Stitch markers (Optional), tapestry needle for weaving ends.

PATTERN STYLE: The pattern contains written as well as chart instructions. There is a key and full abbreviation list included as well.

DIFFICULTY: Advanced Beginner / Intermediate This shawl is worked with the pattern on both sides of the work.

YARN: This pattern is better suited for a solid or tonal yarn to show off the detail of the lace.

NOTES:
If you are a loose knitter, do not swatch to get gauge, or wish to knit this using a larger needle then recommended, please account for more yardage than recommended.
